Hari Keluarga Malaysia

Every year SMKL 9 organize a Hari Keluarga (familyday of all members of SMKL9).

In 2008 we had the opportunity (SMKL9-NL and Bapak Theuvenet) to go to Malaysia to participate on the this marvellous weekend in Cherating.

At this Hari Keluarga there are a few seminars, one seminar is about Adat dan Adab and is given by Dato Sri Wan Wahid.

In 2010 there was a seminar too, and Dato Seri Wan Wahid was also present on that day.
Guru Azlan and Dato Sri Wan Wahid give the Selempang on those who has succeed the loks.
Guru Azlan is the one with the yellow Selempang, next to Guru Azlan sits Dato Seri Wan Wahid.

Dewan Sesepuh

The Dewan Sesepuh Netherlands is very important for the knowledge of Pencak Silat and the Adat dan Adab. The Ketua (chairman) from the Dewan Sesepuh is Guru Bapak Tonjes.

The Dewan Sesepuh are the first pioniers of the Pencak Silat roots in the Netherlands. A lot of Tok Guru's are passed away and also the knowledge of the Pencak Silat. Malaysia, Singapoire, Brunei and Indonesia are the countries where Pencak Silat is an very important cultural sport. The Netherlands is in Europe the country with a lot a Pencak Silat Perguruans. Some alirans in The Netherlands are:

Setia Hati, Tapak Suci,Cinkrik, Cimande, Cikalong, Serak, Pamur, Pukulan Betawi, Mande Muda ,Panglipur, Minangkabauw, Silek Tuo etc.

Welcome on the official webblog off Silat Melayu Keris Lok 9 the Netherlands.

With this blog we will give information about the development and history of SMKL9 worldwide.

At first I'll introduce myself, my name is Rob Brandt (second on the left) and since 1999 I have the opportunity to discover SMKL9. In 2004 I get the amanah from Guru Azlan to become member from SMKL9 and to start a group in the Netherlands. In 2008 the Dewan Sesepu from Belanda and the me are honored to get the Selempang. In Cherating there was a familyday (Hari Keluarga) for all members of lok9. From Belanda there was Adik Hans, Abang Uda (Chris), Bapak Theuvenet and me Angah (Rob Brandt). That was the first time there was a familyday.

In the Netherlands are at the moment 10 pesilat who are training SMKL9. The brothers are:
